Hi Everyone
The 2008 Race season is upon us. Here is an update on the plate situation. Amateur Male (Challenge class) will need Yellow plate with black numbers/letters
Elite Men and Women will need White plate with black numbers/letters
All other plates remain un-changed.
The AB plates and the P plates will be in Morley for distribution as well as regular plates for sale for amateurs needing to change. We will be checking licenses so please make sure everyone is on it. We have planned registration for Saturday Feb 16 in Morley from 12:00-3:00 There will be open track practice from 10:00am-4:00pm Saturday Feb 16. Regular practice and race times will apply for Sunday Jan 17.
We are planning the Alberta BMX meeting at 4:00pm at a hotel in Cochrane (details TBA )

CCA and Alberta Bicycling will be offering the following courses:
  • NCCP course conductor part A cycling theory March 14 ( after this course you can teach the Part A theory course but not the BMX Course)
  • NCCP Part A cycling theory March 15/16
  • NCCP BMX level 2 Practical March 17/18
  • You must take Part A March 15/16 and the BMX Level 2 March 17/18 for certification as a BMX coach
  • Courses will be held in Calgary and Morley
  • As more details come available we will update the website or email Jim Negenman and he will forward you the info as soon as he has more information as to cost and Registration deadline

The CCA has announced the dates for the 2008 Canadian National Championships. They will be held in Abbotsford BC on the weekend of May 17-18th. Anyone planning to go to the Worlds in China can gather some precious ranking points from this race. Also on the calendar is round 1 of the 2009 UCI North American tour. This happens in Kingston on July 5th. It's all posted in our SCHEDULES section

Schedule changes to the Alberta Cup series have been made with Calgary's race moving to August 17th (was August 10th). As well the two BC Western National Series dates have been released. See the SCHEDULES page.

Morley will be CLOSED both Saturday January 26th and Sunday January 27th for track work in preparation for the February Provincial. The biggest job will be the building up of the first corner into a bigger berm and the cow catcher safety in turn two.
